Colton and Richelle first met October of 2010 at a Singles Ward Family Home Evening activity. Richelle’s clever planning of making scary shrunken apple heads, elevated the festive atmosphere of the Halloween season. Not noticing one another at first, Colton’s artistic talent caught Richelle’s eye. Unbeknownst to him, his attention to detail and imaginative creativity captivated her, extending an invitation of attraction. This led them to briefly chatting with each other, but leaving a lasting impression.
Before meeting again, the thought of each other crossed their mind often. The Singles Ward Haunted House activity the following weekend, sounded appealing with the desire to see each other again. Upon arriving at the Church building to carpool, the knots in Richelle’s stomach turned with excitement knowing Colton was there. As everyone filed into cars, ‘coincidentally’ Colton and Richelle sat in the back of a car together. Not really knowing the driver and passenger, they began conversing with them about their lives. After a one hour drive, the excitement of the adventures that lay ahead was electrifying, with the anticipation of becoming frightened by the scary chain-saw monster and the chance to hold hands. As Richelle led the way for the group, Colton’s hand in hers, offering protection and comfort, gave her courage. Terror Stricken by each scary creature, Richelle fled back to the group or pushed Colton in front of her to fend off the relentless attackers. Colton’s fearless, brave steps through each obstacle of terror, won Richelles' heart. That evening they talked for hours, and have been best friends ever since.
